Walking Cleveland’s Nature Trails – Garfield Park Reservation

Walking Cleveland’s Nature Trails – Garfield Park Reservation

Another short 2  mile walk today.  My mom and I headed to Garfield Park Reservation in Garfield Heights, a park that opened in 1895.  At the nature center there were extra large maps of the park, the trails and  distances clearly marked.  We did the 2-mile All-Purpose Trail Loop, but next time I might try some of the smaller trails since there is supposed to be some pretty waterfalls there.

Unlike yesterday, I felt completely safe. The trail was paved and very wide and the old trees provided shade.  It’s a popular park, we probably passed a dozen or so walkers and dogs and a baby. It also had lots of different picnic areas and a playground.  I’d say the chances are good that I’ll be going back.  And instead of going away from Cleveland like the last few days I headed toward the city.

This was hike #7 in the 60 Hikes Within 60 Miles – Cleveland by Diane Stresing.

We are finally starting to see some color – yay!!
