Go big or go home! After last month’s poor attempt at a 30 day challenge I am ready to take on something big. But I need your help and support. I signed up for NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) so I will be writing EVERY DAY in November. To ‘win’ I have to complete a 50,000 word novel(la?) by November 30th. I’m not setting a daily word count because there might be days (Thanksgiving, my favorite holiday) that sparing time for a few hundred words might be all I have. I’ll have to average between 1600-1700 words a day to finish.
What have I done to prepare, you ask? I had an idea. I listed about 10-15 things I envisioned happening. I juiced up an ancient laptop that I hope will see me through. I attended a kick-off event at a local library that I found encouraging. I think that’s pretty much it.
It’s a romance (I think) about a 30 ish woman who goes home to the Midwest after 5-10 years away. She’s smart, a teacher, and leaving a not so great relationship.
I am asking for your help, PLEASE! To keep me motivated I’m hoping that you will help me along the way. I gave you the bare bones about my story and lead character and I want you to help me name her. I will fess up here and admit that I always have a problem naming the heroine, so you will really be helping me out. Please comment with a first name. A first and last name would be great but the first is most important at this point.
Tomorrow I’ll choose my favorite three (please let there be three!) and you can vote. I’m hoping you can help me along the way to get me to the end! Hey, if you name her and this sells a million copies I’ll be sure to give you credit 🙂
I wrote a romance a long, long time ago and it’s still in the drawer where I hid it all those years ago. Maybe with this one, and your help, I’ll have one that I want to make public.
